My blog begins wiv d question..'what's the criteria for winning the prestigious award? Number of goals scored? Or overall contribution to team success. For both club and country? Messi scored abt a 100goals 2012 but barcelona won just the copa del rey.so does his goalscoring merit the award? My best. Selection. For the award so far would be the year 2006. It was perfect in every sense of theword. Winner:fabio canavar..he did not score 100goals like messi did...doubt if he even scored up to 20! But he led italy to the 2006 world cup and juventus tothe italian scudetti. Messi won the award in 2010 whileplayers like wesley sniedjer who led inter to the champs league trophy,the scudetti and the fifa world club championship as well as holland to 2nd place in the world cup was shoved aside. Why?
